Ensign de iate

Um alferes de iate é uma bandeira permitida por algumas nações a serem içadas como a alferes nacional (em vez da alferes civil) pelos iates.

Como em qualquer outro alferes civil, a alferes do iate é a maior bandeira a bordo e normalmente é levada de avião na popa (traseira) do navio.

As bandeiras do iate diferem dos alferes do comerciante, pois seu uso indica que o iate não está carregando nenhuma carga que requer uma declaração aduaneira. O transporte de carga comercial em um barco com um alferes de iate é considerado contrabandear em muitas jurisdições.
